Video Description:
The captain of the stricken Italian cruiser has admitted making a navigational error that caused the vessel to run aground, killing at least eleven. Francesco Schettino is accused of multiple manslaughter and abandoning his ship before passengers were evacuated to safety. Meanwhile, Italian authorities are implementing a salvage operation to pump more than two thousand tonnes of petrol from the vessel's fuel tanks, amid fears of an environmental catastrophe.

@Granciozzy Totally agree with you...i'm Italian too and I fucking hate Neapolitans...I would never trust any of them neither in a matter of life and death.
I'm not ashamed to be Italian, by the way. I'm ashamed Naples is part of Italy and most of military officers are from the Neapolitan province.

@shoutatthesky No. It's clear you're not italian, I don't think you could understand what we mean with our "racism" (or better "Not-trusting") for Naples.
All that you people living in other countries can see about Naples, is the sea, the typical music, the food... there is a LOT of other things to valuate!
Neapolitans are known in Italy for being the cheatest, the most ignorant people (on average) in the entire country and the most corrupted and corruptive.
This IS NOT RACISM. This is realism.

@Pecchio92 I don't need to live in Italy to know that it makes no sense to condemn EVERYONE that lives in Naples just because they live there. Do you hate the 5 minute old baby also? No one could possibly have a reason to hate a newborn baby but it is the same logic you are using for all other Neapolitans. And what do Neapolitans say about those from Sicily or Giglio or wherever.

I'm not obviously talking about NEAPOLITANS as a group of people living in the area around Naples...I'm talking to them as a different "kind" of Italians. It's clear I don't hate someone just because he's born in that area..I'm not saying this! I've a couple of friends who were born there, and I also know a lot of good people from Naples.
The fact is that I, and almost every Italian, hate the AVERAGE Neapolitan, who is ignorant and on, like I said before.

@shoutatthesky I invite you to go to Naples one day. So you could see how cheating and corrupted are the people living in that zone.
And again, I'm not saying that EVERYONE from there is a cheater and a corrupted person.
Just that 99% of corrupted men, cheaters, and ignorant people in Italy are from Naples and the zones around that city.
I'm not condemning Neapolitans because they're from Naples.
I'm condemning them because of the thingsthat the average Neapolitan makes.

I heard last night that they found a woman in a hall way in her life vest. :( she was about to go up to the dock but the water rised and she drowned. I send out prayers to all the families who have lost a family member on this accident, and I pray that the captin realizes he made a massive mistake and should be ashamed of himself.

Cruises are supposed to be fun and I understand how anyone who was on the Costa may feel like they will never take another cruise again but give it time. This doesn't reflect on all cruises. They are generally safe. Don't let one ignorant, dumbass captain ruin your chance at another. One that will be everything you want it to be. There are more safety regulations being implemented because of this. Take all the time you need to heal even if it means years. Then consider trying again.
